I wonder how many e-bodies are left? Barry?
« on: October 04, 2009 - 10:19:50 PM »
Just wondering if there was a way to know how many are left? Challengers and Cuda's Barracuda's? Barry are you "keepin score"?  Just curious?

There is no way to know. Even if you had access to all of the registration records worldwide you wouldn't have all of them because some aren't registered, like my white car.

Hopefully Barry will give us the latest numbers on what he has registered, but even those include cars that probably don't exist anymore.

for the most part, I'd be surprised if 50% of these cars still exist today.
Anyone have breakdowns on the cudas?
Thanks.

I figure roughly 30% still exist, but that percentage varies greatly by engine.  The less desirable models like /6's and 318's were unlikely to be restored, and prone to be cannibalized for parts for restoration of cudas, R/T's and convertibles, so their survival rate might be less than 20%.  Then your T/A's, AAR's, V codes and such might be over 40%.
Hemis are in their own league, their survival rate is probably about 150% for some reason! Strange how many more exist today then were made in '70 and '71. :clueless: :sly: :poopoke: :lol2:

The totals are upated (for the 1970 cars) on the website every so often, but the Hamtramck cars include Valiants & Dusters & the LA cars include A & B-Bodies. I have over 10,552 cars recorded from both plants so far.

Sadly we will never know how many E-Bodies are left in this world.   :crying:

All we can do is cherish and preserve the one that are left, and count our luck stars that we are the proud few who own them.  :2thumbs:

I would start with a cross reference with year one and legendary with a total carpet sets sold ,even better go straight to the carpet manufactures records . almost all cars get carpets its one common denom that would tell whats on the streets less unrestored cars .

I know of several E bodies around here. But like me they seem to never show up in public. As far Mopars cruising the streets about all you see here is A&B bodies. I cannot even remember the last E Body I've seen on the street. When I do drive mine it's always on the back streets where the speed is more controlled and you can take the intersections with more care. I stay away from the main traveled streets. To many people on phones and other distractions to chance it anymore for me. I just cringe when I look at Crazy Pete's mess with his T/A getting crashed into!
