A compressor...how can you do a good resto without one? Thats a given you need.

Epoxy primer: You blast you need primer...period!

Rotisserie: You pulled the drive train right? And then you wanted to blast just the outer half? Doesn't make sense if you're that far into it.

Dicking around for months: Have you ever restored a car entirely on your own without anyone helping you? And work a full time job?

It's your money and your project. Do what suits you best.

Shlab, I haven't gotten that far yet. I work about 100 hrs a week but three weeks on, one week off. I am on my off week right now. I also have two kids. I don't get a lot of time to work on the car. I'm trying to spend my money wisely. I will be getting a compressor soon. I just bought a welder yesterday. But it's also winter time here in PA, which is a completely different world coming from Texas. But I'm getting there. I usually get to asking questions a while in advance so I have plenty of time to think on it. I am gonna start doing some practice welding, then when it warms up I will be able to get ready to cut out the rusty rear quarters and floor pan. I will make a decision on whether or not to send it in or do it myself by then. Right now it's looking like I'm gonna send it in, mainly because after looking at Mike's pics I think it may be too big of a project for my workspace.

I hear ya man i have two kids and work full time too.  Not alot of spare time to spend in the garage :crying:.  Thats why i suggested sending your car in, you will be glad you did.  It will save you SOOOOOOO much time and you dont have to buy all the stuff needed.  Unless you plan on painting your own car you dont need a huge expensive compressor. I still dont have one, a grinder, sawzall, and 120 welder is all i ever use and i have done tons of work to my car. (built my own frame with exhaust cutouts, 6 point rollbar, quarter skins, and probly 30 or so small patches. I do wish i had a small compressor to run a mini die grinder and fill tires but thats it. A used up grinder disk is pretty small and it works  Good luck with you project ill try to post some picks of mine before and after media blasting  :ylsuper:

EDIT  sorry all my old picks are to large in size it wont let me post them, unless its possible to shrink them :dunno:

Yeah, I do plan on painting my own car, but that is a long long ways down the road. I do actually plan on getting a decent compressor. Right now I am very undecided on whether or not to send it in. My focus for the next little bit will be practicing welding. Then I will be able to start cutting body pieces off that I know I am getting rid of. It's gonna be a while....
