Best Pictures of my 71 Cuda Clone
« on: October 03, 2009 - 02:16:52 PM »
Only owned it about 3 months now, and have worked almost every weekend on it upgrading and repairing lots of little things. Have it looking pretty good, with my wishlist now down to 3 or 4 of the more $$ items:
New 17x8 and 17x9 TT2 wheels (would love to sell my 15x7 and 15x8 Weld Prostars)
Upgrade Hooker headers to the black ceramic coated TTIs.
Replace vinyl seats with the leather covers from Legendary.
Elastomeric bumpers.
Taking it out tonight to its first cruise in.
Thanks so far for all your suggestions and help.

The car looks amazing. I know the ceramic coated headers make it look better along with the other upgrades. I am jealous!! :woo:

Just got back from the cruise in at Bettys Burgers....first saturday of each month. Probably about 100-150 cars there. All types, and wow, some real nice ones.  :wow:
So many nice cars in fact I dont think anyone even took a long look at mine!
Of course there were lots of newer mustangs and some new already highly modified camaros. They attracted the large crowds.
Honestly, my bet is that by far most people 30 or under have absolutely NO IDEA what a cuda is!

You are right about your Mopar. I don't know how many times I was asked if my Challenger was a Charger and my '68 Barracuda has been called everything but an Edsel!! :smilielol: :roflsmiley: :smilielol:

:2thumbs:  Looks great.  Hope my '70 'Cuda looks that good when it's done.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Thanks for all your comments.
Gotta add that even though I saw lots of nice cars last night, I honestly would rather have mine than all but a couple cobra roadsters, and a Ford GT...omg I love those cars, especially in the old Gulf blue and orange!
I think my wishlist priority now is the headers. The rattling against the steering pump and the torsion bar on the driver side drives me nuts. If I spend the money on new tti's I'll have a lot of work getting them to fit and the collectors match up with my 3" tti exhaust. On the other hand I can maybe rework my hooker super comps just a little, and have them blasted and ceramic coated for a lot less money.
I may end up going that route, but can they be bent a little and not just whacked on, which kinda defeats the purpose of smooth flow?

Hey... Real nice 'cuda you got!  TTI's er Doug's.  I got TTI's on 2 cars. 340,383. They fit nice. All headers are a  :banghead:   I won't run ones that drop below the steering on the street. Just my :2cents:   Ford GT in those colors would be sweeeet! My (imaginary) one is black.
