bell housing clutch cover
« on: September 28, 2009 - 11:04:10 PM »
I just purchsed a 70 cuda. The only thing it is missing is the clutch cover that attaches to the bell housing. It's a 440 with an A833 4 speed transmission.

How can i tell which clutch cover will work? Can i measure something to find out? here is a link to the clutch covers. It's not an original engine or transmission, that is why i'm not sure which one i need. I can take a picture also if that might help?

http://jimsautoparts.com/transmission_parts.htm

it's about 1/4 of the page down listed under "4 SPEED BELLHOUSING CLUTCH COVERS"

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks chryco. I just finished putting the bellhousing on. It fit perfectly. Two of the holes where stripped, but 3 bolts are holding it on.  Aluminum.... Never did like aluminum. It's too soft. Anyway, the cover is on and thank you for the info.

you are welcome
Just install helicoils into the stripped holes & they will not strip out again
