No pictures or links?
Non #s but otherwise original and very good condition around $30k for a 340 auto sounds about right in this market.

Looks like a sign of the times. Most people aren't spending large sums of cash right now. Sounds like a good deal though!

more than likely, non one is able to refi or pull out cash out of their houses to buy these cars. I know many people got greedy pulling equity out of their houses in the economy boom and now losing the house. Its sad but no one forced them to do it. a few people i know pulled out 100k or so to have fun and buy toys, when that equity was lost to a bad economy they were left paying high bills and mortgages

I would not even think of selling in this market unless the world dropped out from under me. My brother in laws 71 'Cuda is a matching numbers 340 car and all original though it needs some touch up. If I were him 40k would not buy it, even unrestored. I hear people all the time knocking 340 cars and I dont understand it. The only 2 'Cuda's you could get air conditioning on in 71 was a 383 and a 340 car. Although I love the 383 the 340 is going to be my choice more often than not. I know my opinion is tainted because I love air conditioning though. Live in the hot desert and you come to appreciate it alot.   :worshippy

What's Hemi Red?  :poopoke:

As for the rest of the car, sounds like a pretty good deal.  Good luck!
