paint guns
« on: September 12, 2009 - 11:41:07 PM »
So, I'm thinking about retiring my 80.00 paint gun to a primer gun. Is there a difference going up to a 180.00 gun( like from Eastwood ). Or do I have to go up to a really good gun for 3-400 bucks. I dont spray a whole lot(obviously or I wouldnt have to ask) and my cheap gun did an okay job, but I would like something a bit better.

           Thanks, Andy
If I cant fix it, it's broke

If you want a terrific deal on a paint gun go to www.spraygunplanet.com they have the best prices and if you want a awesome paint gun my husband uses a sata jet 3000 hvlp digital gun.Cost 550.00 and that is a fraction of what the books and stores get for it.Another gun is a iwata and they make a nice gun also.My husband told me to let you know.

you can pick up DeVilbiss Finishline guns at right around $100,I don't see a reason in your situation buying expensive gun and only use it once or twice, unless you have plenty of cash.If you're shopping for one gun to shoot base and clear, get  fluid tip & cap between 1.3 and 1.5, anything bigger and your clearcoat won't atomize like it should and end up with heavy orangepeel,

I have guns from $100-$650. When new most work excellent. The secret to keeping a gun working like new is to clean it well. Don't use metal pins. Use laquer thinner and Q-Tips. If it shows color it isn't clean is it? They make paint gun lube also. Coupla times a year is all I use it. After soaking in laquer thinner over night it's good to let your gun dry unassembled. I could not get some to work if I reassembled them right away. The guns are relatively simply to dissassemble and clean.
