restoring the appearance of an 8-3/4 center section

My 8-3/4 center section has the original unfinished look to it with all the factory markings, however the years have not been kind.  What is the best home remedy to restore it to a new appearance?  Can I use stripper, or an aluminum mag wheel clearner to clean the metal?  I have no access time or money to have it bead blasted.   Then whats the best coating?

Where is the best place to get rear seals, gaskets and some other assorted odds and ends for the rear end?

Local parts house had the pinion seal in stock, ordered the axle & dust gaskets they overnight, all less than $20 the gaskets were Felpro & the seal I believe was Federal. Didn't replace the axle seals but they should be no problem if you need them.
