Hi,

I´m planning to start my T/A Challenger engine rebuilding and here´s the case...

Currently I have:

-bare 340 TA block in standard bore
-forged steel crank
-complete six pak (intake, carburetors, air cleaner)
-Mopar Performance 360 Magnum crate engine which is currently in place in that Challenger (only about 2000 miles on it) with the 750 Speed Demon carb.

Any recommendations for the rebuilding? Main theme would be that it should look as much as possible original stock but wouldn´t mind having some extra HP with it compared to the original specs... some 350-400 HP might be the case.

Now the questions:

-What kind of heads? => original J-heads or is there more reasonable options for this especially J-heads are hard to find?
-What kind of cam, pistons, valves, springs, etc.
-Can I utilize some of the parts from that 360 Magnum engine for the rebuilding?

I know this is quite large topic and depending on my preferences but I haven´t done the rebuilding before so your comments/recommendations are highly appreciated!

A friend has a set of the J T/A heads & offset rockers available if you want , the next best choice would be the 308 casting used on 360s from 88-92 , either way I would port the heads & use the 2.02/1.60 valves
I would use a forged piston with 10:1 ratio combined with a Lunati solid or the Mopar .528 cam if you already have the adjustable rockers

Thanks CP! No rockers yet, so in that sense everything is open... do you prefer Lunati solid cam then?

Definitely interested in those T/A heads and rockers... what kind of bucks we´re talking about?

I will find out what the cost is for the heads
 Yeah the Lunati cams make a lot of power
