A leaking wheel cylinder will cause the brakes to grab.  Also, a lot of brake dust caught inside the drums will cause that problem too.  Humid weather doesn't help the situation either.  I'd just pull the drums and clean everything out.  Then you will be able to see if a wheel cylinder is leaking.

Look for a gear oil leak too. It will grab it quick.  The newer trucks have rear disc tho. What year is your?

Yea it could be a rear axle leak that causes that.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I know it happens, but I've never understood why oil can make brakes grab. :dunno: You would think it would make them slip!

The lube reduces the coefficient of friction between the pad/shoe material and the disk/drum.  Instead of the relatively smooth increase in effective friction, and therefore energy conversion from movement to heat as pedal pressure increases, you get almost none (it slips) until the pressure increases to the point where even the slickened surfaces' limits are reached and they 'grab'.  Ease the pressure just a bit and they release again with very little friction between them.
