Cars needing good home

For those in the So Cal area, when I picked up my 70 R/T, there were a number of other Mopars getting ready to be sold off including GTXs 71 Roadrunners, Challengers, etc.

I took only one photo at the time but I am not sure why.

If anyone is interested, I can contact the seller and get more details.

I asked that question too since 71 Cudas are one of the coolest looking cars ever!

Apparently he has one of each but is holding on to a handful of cars for his own projects. The guy had 66 Mopar muscle cars and he is making room and simplifying his life.

I did see a 71 Chally though. The front end was removed and I took reference photos of the fenderwalls, cowl, and rad. support for my own project. The motor and trans were gone. It was a 318/floor shoft auto car. It looked straight but I'm sure many items were missing.

Missing parts are easy to replace. 

Good projects seem to always come cannibalized.

Fender tags and prices.

Isn't that the truth.

The stuff that always makes me laugh though is when someone overlooks a solid rust free project in favor of the car which runs and drives but has rust, needs an engine build, and all the other stuff anyway. A small tear in upholstery or headliner, etc means it needs replacing. It doesn't matter if it's completely torn apart at that point if you still have to pay for replacement. Yet they will pay more for the one which looks better even if it really isn't better.

I don't mine the canabalized one as long as I know exactly what is missing. Besides, it encourages you to customize the car the way you really want it without worrying about making it perfectly original.

The gentelmans name is Glenn (Don't know his last name).

A good friend of mine, Dave, is friends with Glenn. Glenn is an older guy but is still very busy with work and travels alot. Glenn asked Dave to help him sell off most of the cars so he can focus on his favorites while he is still healthy and active. They are scattered on his various properties all over the San Fernando Valley in So. Cal.

I spoke with Glenn a few times and met him the first time when he was kind enough to deliver the car to me in the rain. He seemed like a really nice guy.

I'm not sure what Glenn's special Mopars are but I'll ask Dave when I talk to him today. As far as I know, Glenn is the kind of guy who has acquired quite a mass of cars and even more in extra original parts but he is unwilling to be persuaded into letting stuff go until he is certain he doesn't want/need it anymore.

When he dropped of the car yesterday, I chose not to ask him to much about the other stuff he had cause it sounds like he gets that alot from people trying to get stuff from him. He offered to provide me with anything I needed for the Chally project and that's darn generous of him. I figure I'll save that offer until I get to know him better. Maybe I'll restore some parts for him for his own projects as barter for future trades.

What year GTX's did he have? Any pics? My parents have been interested in getting one for quite a while. If the price is right it might be worth the drive to pick it up.

   Glenn's a real stand up guy I don't know anyone in so cal that would do something like that in the rain!!
 
Reason why I asked if it was Randy because Ive talked to a Randy in SFV and he said he had 900 cars or so scatted around maybe his brother or something.
