actually it does. A 1971 convertible with 426 Hemi has no low or average estimated value but a high estimated value of $1,000,000

Ck it out for yourself:

I like this book...it puts my car at $45,000!  I guess this is a good reference point.

Got pics of the plum crazy 70 model I was telling you guys about.  Ck it out at:

www.miketyler.net/cuda

Those on dialup be advised, there are some high res pics there

Car looked like a cheap restore. The fender tag was gone, was a Mass. car and still had Mass registration sticker. Looks like it might have been on a rotisserie but they painted the entire bottom side with undercoating. I dont think car was originally FC7 but not sure. New vinyl top, not an AC car, engine had been repainted after it was installed with paint on belts and hoses, etc. Grille has cracks, looks like the rear end was leaking also. Car also had 'Cuda door panels and bumpers had a few dents and were painted silver metallic.

Am told the owner is asking $15-$16K; maybe I am just a hard ass or something but I wouldnt give $7K for it

Tell me what you guys think - and BTW, the pictures make the car look better than in real life.

I'd agree with your less-than-7k feelings.  Have a magnet and some friends on hand if you're serious about it but that's a way high asking price for a so-so "cosmetic restoration" imo.

I'd have to agree...  $5-6 would be a appropriate start- you add the rest (a years and 5K more) and you end up with a #3-2 car.  since its a base model- everything would be new to bring it up to exciting level.  We have an original 318 70 barracuda down the road from us-  lady wont sell it (yet) but still -even with a new paintjob it wouldnt fetch 5K from us.

yes, owner posted it in the autotrader.com this week - asking price? $15.5K Some internet buyer is going to be very upset when they unload it off the trailer.
