Putting crush column back on
« on: October 29, 2009 - 07:03:19 PM »
Any tips for putting the crush column back on? The splines appear and feel to be in line, but I can't get it on far  enough to thread the retaining nut. I have tried a little penetratig oil, and don't want to beat on it. Should there be that much resistance? any ideas?

Did you get some paint on there when you repainted it?  Also, are you making sure that you are lining up the splines the right way?  If I remember right, there is one groove that is larger than the rest.
