ignition switch issues
«

My ignition switch went out. When I turn the key on, the accessories still come on and work but I cannot turn the engine over. The key just kind of spins without any stopping or solid resistance points. I went ahead and broke down the steering column because I need to rebuild it anyway. I pulled back on the lever off the key buzzer thinking it would turn over and nothing. I can still start the car by arching the solenoid under the hood.
ideas?

I would assume the switch in the column is bad as you say , operaint anything iside the column to make it work will not make any difference as the switch is connected to the lock in the column
