Marhyde 2K High Build question

No matter what, I seem to end up with a powder-y overspray from this crap and I can't figure out why. The first time I didnt reduce it so I figured that was it. I shot my truck hood today and it did the same and that was reduced.

4parts primer:1part catalyst:1part reducer

anyone using this stuff with the same problem? or does high build just do that?

I have had that problem with high build primers as well.  What type of gun are you using?  Once I went with a HVLP gun and turned down the PSI it helped a bunch.  Plus you need to sand a high build primer before you shoot a top coat anyways.

Its a Husky gravity feed. I thought that too. So Im going to try lower pressure and a little more reducer tomorrow. I just hate how thick that stuff is.

try a little less pressure, we made a bit of a mess on the chally as well.
high build has a tendancy to "hair" up if you try and lay it on to thick as well, check your spray pattern. just an annoyance actually, your gonna forget about after all the sanding your gonna do anyways...

Yep, all that sanding is going to build up your arm muscles......   

Been there done that.....and I need to do it again soon.

Worked it out, thanks guys!! I went with about 30% more reducer and lower pressure. So far it likes 20psi.
