the material used for the chrome tip is just over .100 , reading .108 on my tips
the width inside is 3.78on the tip not inline with the tube & 3.810 on the one in line with the tube
the width outside is 3.910 on both
virtically they are 2.28 in the middle -2.365 near the corner Outside measurement , the reason for this is that the middle of the tip is not flat but curved inward from bending the metal , the ID is hard to get as the bottom of the tip is recessed too far for the caliper to touch it
the space between the tips varies from .100 in the middle to .275 neaar the corners again because the metal is ronded from bending so the side is not true
the steel used for the rear box is only .070 thick
The one beef I have with virtually every tip is the deflector plate that directs 1/2 the exhaust flow into the tip not in line with the tube is left out , this does 2 things , in the cold the exhaust is visably coming out of both tips & secondly it changes the sound , I have asked TTI to add the deflector to the tips on many occaisions & I have discussed this with Sam the owner of TTI but they still produce the tips without the deflector ... to be correct the tip Must have the deflector in them
