19X9 Front 20X12 Rear too big? Challenger 74
« on: October 29, 2015 - 03:19:22 PM »
Hi guys,

I found a good deal for the new Forgeline-ZX3 wheels with brand new Michelin PS2's. The size is 19X9 Front 20X12 rear and I'm not sure if I will be able to fit into my challenger 74.
I have seen these wheels in a few challengers and cudas and I think they look pretty nice.

Hotchkis challenger TA has the same wheels but 18x9 Front & 18x10 Rear. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/23/review-1970-hotchkis-e-max-dodge-challenger-causes-smiles-lasti/
Daniel Niclas 71 Challenger has 17x9 and 18x10 . http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/1503-1971-dodge-challenger-buyer-beware/
Karl Dunn's 70 Challenger has  19x11 & 19x12. http://www.forgeline.com/customer_gallery_view.php?cvk=1012

My car is stock suspension and breaks (for now), do you guys think that will fit? What are the necessary adjustments to fit this size?

Thanks

I'd say no the 20x12 won't fit in the rear. 19x9 might fit up front but backspacing is everything.  Bigger issue is finding tires that mount on those rims that will clear without mods.

Thanks. Yes, the wheels have tires already so I will have to test for adjustment before buying.

E-Max had mods to the inner fender and rolled lips to fit the rear.  20x12 will most likely not fit without mods (spring re-location, B-Body rear, mini-tub, etc).

20x12 rear 20x9 front. Corvette Z06 fitment, (I already owned them) fronts are on two inch spacers. Rear is tubbed, narrowed axle and springs moved way in. Ford 9 inch, Wilwoods, and Control Freak 4 link are in the house.
