Is Dr Diff still the best
« on: November 27, 2009 - 05:31:35 PM »
Getting closer to ordering a Dana 60 for a 71 hemi Cuda. In my past research (year ago) Dr Diff seemed to be the best way to go for this. Just wondering if that is still the case or if their are new options out their? Want disc brakes also.

Not sure if you can do better on price, but I'm positive you won't do better on service.  Cass is always willing to get on the phone and help.

it will be tough to find someone to handle the narrowing, powdercoating, and custome brakes under one roof for a better price. You can probably farm i tall out seperately if you have guys local you trust to handle it, but you won't sav emuch money. Cass definitely knows Mopars and has a few different choices when it comes to custom brakes as well. He was able to set my Dana 60 up like I wanted it with 4 piston fixed calipers and internal parking brake, which no one makes a kit for on a big Ford bearing Dana setup. I will say the turnaround was not really fast, but my oddball setup and other issues had something to do with the timeframe it took.

Your best bet is to call him, the website isn't very good.

We had some pretty lengthy discussions doing mine and he always called promptly and answered emails. I agree the website could be better with some pictures of the stuff he has done to give you an idea of what is available and the quality. The offset shackles and brake kits are top notch.

Thanks for all the positve feed back, that was really all I needed to know. I will get it from him.

Only thing I have to figure out is gear ration. Any recomendations? 71 Cuda with a 426-472 hemi, 4 speed, stock tire size, mainly a weeked driver.

I went with 3.73 in my Dana, had 3.55 in my 8.75.  Doesn't sound like much of a change but I can tell the difference.
