How hot should power steering fluid get? I never paid any attention before but I just put a new pump on my car and it gets so hot you can't hold your hand on it. everythink works and sounds great but is this normal?

Steering box oil gets hot and the oil can usually handle that. Installing a small cooler or even just looping a copper pipe in the front of the radiator will help.
