My old man loved apples from day one and messed around with them and his cassette players to record and play back data (early 80's). Man, talk about SLOW. I totally rejected computers in high school, saying "they will be the downfall of mankind" and "computers take jobs away from people". I still believe both of those statements, but...
I went to machining trade school in 85 and caught on quickly to CNC machining. (Computer Numeric Control.) I became "the CNC guy" at my first job in 86 and have been doing it ever since. I remember 286, 386, 486, the first Pentiums, blah, blah, blah.
A g/f in the late 90's insisted we "get on the internet". She used it to get a new job in another state. I started selling parts on Mofarts and we were both hooked. Oh, and I later used it to meet my woman of ten years.
I designed and manufacture Auto-Grip shifters thanks to computers.
Computers....love 'em/ hate 'em. LOL
A friend in HS pursued a degree in computer science and now makes around $250K a year. The computer reject (me) makes roughly 1/5 of that. Oh, the choices we make!
