door handle hardware driving me crazy
« on: December 20, 2009 - 06:59:22 PM »
So, at this point Ive spent about 2 hours trying to change my lock cylinders in my doors.

Now, neither door will open, and someone where th car is parked was obviously looking in my car or something, because I left the door barely open and now it is fully shut  :villagers:
I cant wait to get it indoors where people will stop messing with it, I must get 5 notes a week wanting to give me like $500 for it  :eek4:

at this point I can get my left door open, as I dont have the handle in there right now. The right side will not open, the handle is installed. If I take the handle out can I get it open somehow? I tried unlocking it three ways, the part on the door on the interior, the actual lock, and the rod connected to the cylinder

any suggestions? Im starting to run out of ideas

have you tried actually just installing the handle and its rod?
when that works good, move on to the inner handle rod, then to the lock rod. just my  :2cents:

i have had to do this on my 2 cars so i feel your frustration. just take it one step at a time.

I have no handles on mine & have no problem opening the doors.. the part of the latch that the rod goes in can be pushed down by finger to release.
