Thanks Bullit.  So the stripe is not uniform in width across the trunk and quarters?  How wide is the pinstripe?  I have pics of the stripe being applied but have no measurements.  I know it was painted before color is applied then taped off to finish applying body color.

From what I understand the gap to pinstripe & pinstripe are 1/4"....wait for confirmation please
Yes the measurement at the middle is larger, but I believe this is due to contour in the panels.. The stripe will turn out straight across the deck lid

I found 1-reference to the pinstripe size.. 1/4" with 3/8" gap.

I own a graphics/sign shop and can tell you that the reason Dodge painted these on the Challengers is due to the many compund curves on the rear of the car.  It is almost impossible to make one out of vinyl.  Best bet is to simply mask it of using some Fine Line tape and spray the stripe on.  I don't remember the exact dimensions however but I seem to think that the gap is 3/8" and the Pinstripe is 1/4".  I've done a few over the years and this worked out well for me.  Just remember to tape it off really well and scuff up your paint good.

Thanks again Bullit.  I will continue to monitor for any other updates from members.  I'll be traveling out of town in a month and trying to get as much info to the body shop as I can before leaving.  CC.com is a great wealth of knowledge because of folks like you.

Measurements in that top drawing are taken from the front edge of the cowl with the front & rear windows out if anyone needs to know......

When I painted mine, I used those drawings that were posted by FY1 RT SE.   At the time, I did not realize where those measurements were taken from (Thanks for the clarification, Barry!)

You can figure out your dimensions from those drawings.  The 'thin' stripe is 0.20" (paint).  Then there is a 0.25" gap between the 'thin' stripe and the 'thick' stripe.  You can use those dimensions along the car to figure out how to place the 'thick' stripe.

Painting tip:  When we did mine, we masked out the area, and used 0.25" pinstripe tape to make the gap between the stripes.

The biggest difficulty was making the stripes come down the quarter panel.  As you can see in the drawings (and original cars), the stripes sort of terminate in that little bumper cutout area.  A lot of people incorrectly bring the stripe to the front point of that cutout.  We sort of 'eyeballed' mine, using the picture you see below (the green car with the gold stripe).  That is original paint.  My car is the orange one below.

If I can offer any help to you on the layout, please let me know!
