Can't decide on automatic for my 73 Hemi challenger!
« on: December 31, 2009 - 01:33:00 PM »
I know i'll be shifting a lot with a manual trans so I've eliminated that from my mind!  Will probably end up with an automatic w/overdrive BUT i'm still kinda on the fence about the choices out there.  I'll be doing more street driving and weekend warrior events/shows.  Also considering building one  :cooldancing: rather than pruchasing one already done.  What 'cha think?

well the Mopar 518 is not available to bolt onto the big block but I though I heard about a new case being cast to do it but you wouild still have to re-work the floor/ tunnel to fit it , the 727 + Gear Vendors OD works great & is indestructable but pricey

I heard recently that Jw bell had the SFI bellhousing for the big block to fit the small block trans up to it. You cut the sb bell off and mount the bb bell on useing the front pump bolts

I'm running the JW bellhousing on mine
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....
