Up here in Fort McMurray it hits below freezing in mid October. Dec., Jan., Feb., usually range between -20C to -40C then March it slowly starts to warm up. Iam lucky though Iam in a heated cab when Iam working. :clapping:

I have tried all my life to work outside as the $$ is usually better but I simply cannot take  the cold , I have never been able to work in it , I was built for working in the warmer climates where I am restricted from living
I have been an electrician , pipefitter , welder , driven truck , worked as a mechanic & a locksmith & all of these jobs have required me to work outside in conditions as cold as - 65 * C
I have had enough of winter to last my lifetime

I work inside now for the most part. But I retired from the fire department and I remember well those days of firefighting when the weather was in single digits. Ladders freezing up, hoses getting buried under ice on the ground, ice freezing up on our gear. We usually left a small area burning on the involved structure to use as a warming fire....    :roflsmiley:    :roflsmiley:

I can appreciate those of you that work outside, it is tough....      :2thumbs:

Ken I bet that lil additional and seperated "hot spot" puzzled the state fire inspectors.  :roflsmiley:

I worked outside for about 25 years, what I dreaded more than the cold was rain, had to work through it  :eek4: But the last three jobs before retirement were inside jobs, now for the past year the biggest job I've had is deciding what to do for that day.  :2thumbs: I know since the first week of September to date my time has been consumed by watching football and  ............................. I've probly gained 10-15 pounds, but my cat likes laying on my lap in the recliner near the fireplace.  :dogpile:

I agree I'd rather work in the cold and snow than the rain and cold!

Although it's not as much as it used to be, working outside is the 'norm" when your a recycler. Thank the lord I have employees that handle most of it now, but in the 'old Days" it was just me my bro and my cuz. I froze my azz plenty of times. As I get older I hate it more and more.  :grinyes:
