« on: January 05, 2010 - 11:15:29 PM »
Can some body tell me what year this motor is by these numbers?

They said it came out of a RR.

Hello,
Could you tell me where those numbers are located on the block? My father is looking at a 440 for me in NC and I'm trying to tell him where to find the casting numbers. Thanks

those casting #s are on both sde of the block under the heads , the serial # is stamped behind the right engine mount along the oilpan rail after 67

The small white #'s books I have(Chrysler Corporation parts &casting numbers) says 4006630-440 was made 1975-1978.Mabe the -7 means 77'?
What about #'s/codes on the engine ID pad on front of engine? Also like Chryco Psycho  said, the engine ser. #'s stamped on pan rail, could help you.
It may have come from a RR but it looks to me to not be an orig. RR engine. The engine ID pad will most times have a year code(as a letter)this info could be helpful.

Thanks Kelly B.A.  I couldn't find any info for the numbers with my limited research material.

This is the only photo the seller sent me, so far.  I will go look at the motor this weekend and hopefully get the numbers off the ID pad.

The motor is complete from carb to pan and includes a trans as well, so we will see if it's a good deal or not.

The -7 at the end means that the mold for this block had been corrected for core shift 7 times.

You can get the model year from the top pad & / or the VIN stamp.
