How good are your metal fabricating skills is what you need to ask yourself.
Do you have the place, tools, and time also.

This is one way to do it. I would've used a mig and compressed air for cooling after stitch welds.

Lilian-

There's a weekly TV show here called Muscle Car.  Recently they did an episode where they installed the 71 Cuda gills onto a B'Cuda fendor.

Now some good news/bad news.  The bad news is that even though I can find the episode on their web site, but I can't get it to play. Here's the link:

http://www.powerblocktv.com/site3/index.php/musclecar-episodes?ep_num=MC2009-09&ep_sea=0901

The episode is called: Project Street Fighter Body Panels & Exhaust
Originally aired on: November 22, 2009
Episode number is: MC2009-09

I also looked on You Tube, but no luck.

The good news, having watched the episode, the install process looks very straight forward/easy.

The biggest tip from the show was that they cut the template smaller, thus, not having to remove as much metel around the perimeter.

Good luck, and please keep us posted with the progress.  Is this one of those projects on my to-do list.

Same thing I am going to do.
I would like some measurements as to where the gills are.
Seems pretty simple to do.
Well worth the price of purchasing new fenders and discarding the old fenders.

Don't know where you live, but you can have your fenders punched:

Shipping via greyhound is relatively cheap if you need to ship.  Just need to ask J&J if they're willing to pick them up at a Greyhound station.

That is good to know.  I would  prefer to have my fenders stamped.  Just sent an email so I am waiting on a reply.
Have you ever done this?  Price?  How did it turn out?

Have you shipped Greyhound before? I did an online quote for a 75 lb pressure pot 2 weeks ago and found out they were only 3 bucks less than UPS was. Maybe they're cheaper on larger items than UPS is. I don't know.

I shipped a trunk pan from WA to TX for $60.00.

I think big items like hoods and fenders, Greyhound is worth it.
