Hey I'm relatively new to this site, but I have been restoring Mopars here in West GA for folks off and on between those annoying stints of "work" (we need groceries, we need a mortgage!) Yeah, well, I need to finish the Cuda, OK? Video and Pix at link below.
Here she is, came from Colorado, had a cool South Dakota State Parks decal in the windshield, circa 1973, a dead rat and an unused tube of "Door-ease" wax, remember that stuff? Its a real 340-4-speed-rear-defrost-road-lamp-gilled-hoodpin car. It had more dust and sand than the Sahara. I replaced the trunk floor, 2 quarters and tail panel, and a few little patches, the rest is original sheetmetal, and heavily sound proofed from B-Quiet.com (just as good as Dynamat but alot cheaper) This build went pretty smooth, right about 8 months, (I am not counting the 3 months at the body shop) Paint was brushed on
Sprayed on by Dave "Red" Glatt in Gainesville GA, thanks Red, Looks amazing. I did all the metal replacement, (AMD, Flowery Branch, GA) fab and weld in US Car tool sub-connecters. I installed a E-Z wiring wiring harness from EZWIRING.COM and I solder every connection. Large gauge wires, like factory and 10x better than Painless (only 180 bucks!!) The interior was all from PRO/FIT in Munford AL, Thanks Libby. All the little seals and gaskets and do-dads from The Ganns at Dixie Restorations in Acworth GA, thanks Randy and Lea!
The motor was a 340 block rebuilt mild with a mild cam By Eric Shelton at
www.sheltonracing.net/ in Atlanta, and run on the dyno (all of his engines get dynoed), making 350 hp and 400 ftlbs. on 87 octane. Believe me, he knows what he's doing. Sitting on top is a "massaged" 3310 750 Holley flowing 780 cfm (night and day difference from stock for extra 140 bucks, done by my neighbor Bobby Joseph, thanks for all your help.)
I build em 1 at a time so they get my undivided attention. I let my customers do the talking for me. No sawdust at my house, I don't cut any corners. I hope this was a treasure trove of new companies to check out and I hope you can save you a few dollars from these folks. I am not hoping to gain business from all this, just support!
Id like to say it makes all the difference in the world to find the right people that really care about your work and cars, deal with them and that's where the incredible finished cars come from. Thanks everyone, and anyone I forgot!
