73 Challenger Runs and Drives $8000 Moscow, ID
« on: March 04, 2010 - 05:33:46 AM »
1973 Dodge Challenger for sale.  This car has a 440 with an automatic trans.  It is not perfect and is not done, although most of the difficult projects and the big money has already been spent.  It does run and drive.  All parts listed are new in the last 5 years and the car has about 100 miles since all this was done.  The car has current registration and the title is clear and in my name.
The Good:  Car has a 440 with new engine mounts, edelbrock intake manifold, edelbrock 750 carb, cleanable cotton element air cleaner, mopar performance valve covers, hedman headers and dual 3” Flowmaster exhaust.  Trans is a 727 auto with a B&M ratchet shifter and a Mopar Performance chrome trans pan with drain plug.  Dash is custom fiberglass and has all new matching Equus gauges.  Steering wheel is a Grant, racing seats in front with 4-point harnesses.  New black carpet as well.  Brakes were re-done all the way around including new rotors, wheel bearings, seals, calipers, hoses, etc.  All four shocks are new, the rears are air adjustable for height.  Wheels are new 17x8” in front and 17x9” in rear.  Tires are also new 245/45/17 front, 275/40/17 in rear.  The rear axle is a 8.75 with 3.55 gears and a suregrip.  Axle seals and bearings were replaced.  All the wiring in the car is new with the Painless Mopar harness.  Battery was relocated to the trunk.  Gas tank and sending unit are also new.  All lights have also been replaced.  Hood scoop is a Hemi-Dart style fiberglass scoop fitted to the hood.  Floors had some rust but were replaced.  I have easily $15K into this car just in parts.
The Bad:  As with most Mopars of this era, the trunk floor has some rust holes and I have not had a chance to replace it.  The interior needs some finishing such as a headliner.  The body is pretty straight but will require some work to get perfect.  There is no heater or vent ducting in the car.  This car was being built as a no creature comforts go-fast car.  That is about it for the bad.  This car is still a project, but as said before, most of the hard work and big money has been done.
The Deal:  The only reason I am selling this car is because I found myself in sudden need of something more modern and more daily-drivable.  That said, there is no reason I can’t get something fun.  Therefore, I am open to the following trades:  1998 or newer 6 spd Camaro or Trans Am, 1989 or newer 6 spd Corvette, 84-87 Grand National, or 1994 or newer Dodge 4x4 with a Cummins.  I am not interested in any other trades that what is listed.  I would also accept $8000 cash for the car.  NOTE:  The car is currently being stored indoors in Montana and if I have any serious buyers, I will bring the car back to Moscow in 2 weeks at my expense.  It will not be available to view until then.

Oops, I forgot to include an email address.  Please respond to braunryan@hotmail.com.  Also I have more pictures, but couldn't attach them as it made the post too large, so I can email them if desired.  Thanks!

Just to let everyone know, this is the last chance for awhile.  Friday is my only chance to go get the car until august, so if I don't have any serious offers by Friday morning, I will have to withdraw the car from being for sale.  Thanks!
