Fuse block mounting
« on: January 23, 2010 - 04:33:55 PM »
Hello Gang, Happy New Year to ya,

I've just mounted the dash in my 70 Challenger and want to verify
the two mounting screws attach from the engine side of the bulkhead
and there are no washers used.

Thanks for your help,

Screws go in from the interior side. No washers;

Thanks A,

I appreciate the prompt answer with picture. My problem is
the holes in the bulk head are too large for the screws to grab.
This is one of the problems one runs into when accepting a basket
case. You don't get to see the problems as you take the thing apart.
I do have the correct screws, they are unique. Wouldn't be a big
problem it the car wasn't painted.  Sigh....

Have the same problem with mine in a few areas.
What I did was buy a nutset kit which makes a really proffessional finish.
I guess it wouldn't be acceptable if you were doing a perfect resto/numbers matching deal though.

I finally did a little research on my problem.
I tracked down some of the members in our car club that had
Challengers and found the fuse block is held to the bulk head
with speed nuts. RT Specialties carries the correct nuts for
this application. I've got them on order.
