What is a "front splash pan scoop"?

Does anyone know what a "front splash pan scoop" is? This was part of the Western Sport Special package on some 1970 challengers. Thanks!

Sounds like a misprint. I think it's referring to the chrome trim on the front valance opening. I forget the factory terminology.
