Metal TA scoops gone?
« on: February 13, 2010 - 09:58:25 AM »
I'm not gonna be in a position to get back to the car for a couple of years, but I can dream and plan

For a while Harms was selling a TA scoop fabricated in metal. I think they were fronting for another company or individual. Anyway, it's not on their site any longer. A place called Playback was selling them later, but their site is gone.

Anybody know if these are still available anywhere? I seem to remember talking to a guy at Playback who told me that someone in South America was making them and he was just acting as an agent. I think he also told me that (at that point) only 6 had been sold, so I'm guessing that nobody's ever seen one to comment on the quality.

The guy from S. America that made them for Harms was Dante on Moparts.com .   Rick Krueger (RestoRick) I think is currently partnered (I'm not 100% sure) or at least reselling some of Dante's parts that Harms used to sell.  I contacted Rick a few months ago about the metal T/A scoops hoping to get one in aluminum that could be used (bonded or welded) on the new 2008+ Challenger T/A hoods instead of the factory plastic scoop, he said he'd check into the possiblity of getting an aluminum T/A scoop and I never heard anything else.

Thanks for the info. That gives me a couple of good leads to look into.

Actually, I think his name is Domingo, not Dante.  I think he has a website "fastplay" or something like that.
