A movie on a TA 340 Block
« on: February 23, 2010 - 07:21:42 PM »
I put together a little clip on the TA engines for the AAR Cuda and the TA Challenger. I’ve had people ask me what a TA block means so I posted this on “you tube”. Perhaps it will help some of the newer guys who have never seen a TA 340 block.

I apologize for the lack of professional filming but I was trying to do everything myself. I had the phone ring once, got tongue tied, dropped my notes and some guys stopped in. I’m not going in the movie production business!

I don’t know if this should be in the engine section or here so I’ll let the moderators determine where it goes.

Well done! I can point folks that way when they ask now.

The casting month on the first block is actually 11 for November though.

282204 is from an AAR

311191 is from a T/A

Looks very informative. That clock casting with the pointer also tells you how many blocks were cast before yours from the same mold.

Thanks for the additional information. I'm not the expert, I'm just trying to give a few basics. I've learned a lot and continue too from all you guys.

Thanks,

Jon
