Wiring Harness
« on: February 23, 2010 - 09:32:30 PM »
I am rewiring my '72 340 Barracuda from the headlights to the firewall. Can anybody recommend someplace reasonable on price? Do they make a complete kit with the headlights, signals and engine or are they all separate?
Thnx

Evans Wiring is a fan favorite here.

This will help as you search for other parts.

I've had to fix 2 harnesses that came from Evans. What if a meltdown happened after plugging them in? Pins were in the wrong holes. Do search on Moparts for Evans. Lots of issues with pins pulling off too. I think that guy is color blind.

Bill seems to really know his stuff. He just helped me figure out what I needed to do. I have a dash and engine transplant, along with some other stuff and we figured it out, so there would be no bs.

I never had to buy a new harness since I repair all of my own from my stash of harnesses, but when I had to wire friends cars, I told them to get them from Year One. The guys at Moparts say that those all come from M and H?.

Moparts is where I read about all of the problems with Evans but I can't search more than once every couple of minutes so I'm giving up looking for it. If someone finds the thread, please post it here.

I picked up an EZ wiring kit.  Looks fairly simple.  It doesn't come with connectors and ground cables, but those are easily obtained.  I searched this forum and a few people were happy with them.

I have heard of some issues with wiring positions with Evans harnesses but do a quick check on the  wire positions & plug them in , I have used numerous Evans harnesses with no issues
M&H makes the Y O harnesses , never had an issue with those either
