Hes just like any other celeberty that screws up go get help or do rehab, make public apolagy  I give him around a year maybe two and all willl be forgot and he'll be back playing golf and more popular than ever. It is a shame really, he WAS a good role modle for younger generations.

I hear ya Keith, and agree. However I also remember as a kid guys like Mays, Mantle, Colovito, Starr, etc. where 10 foot tall to me. I had a good directive at home (especially my Grandfather) but sport stars and others are also looked up to, "hero" status. Even fictional characters like the Lone Ranger and Superman, 

Wood's has done a lot of harm and let a lot of people/youth down.

Maybe not "role models" but they are looked upon by thousands (possibly millions in this case) of children and teenagers. Look at what Tiger did for golf in places like China/Japan. Their driving ranges are full of youngsters, most of which can only say 3 words in English. "Coke", "Xbox" and "Tiger". For that reason alone he HAD to speak up. As much as he may like or deny it, in his line of work and as popular as he has come (made possible by his fans), he IS a role model and idol too many and had to clean up his mess. Kids make up their own mind whom they chose to idolise and call role models. Parents should be and that goes without saying (when brought up right). If he's going to play hide the sausage with that many woman then he has to take what comes with that on the chin.

Whether they aspire to it or not these bigger than life celebrities do become role models for youngsters, some of which have no good role model in their life.
What would you rather see, a generation of Tiger Woods wannabees or Michael Vick's, John Dalys or Tim Tebows, Michael Jordons, or Denise Rodmans?

I want to see a generation of Bullitt, WSM, Moparal, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Carlwalski (lol) wannabees. 

When I was a kid, my Dad drove me up to meet Wally Post because he lived not too far from us.  Got to meet him and talk to him for a while.  My Dad made sure I figured out he was just another guy.  A real nice guy, mind you.

My point, you have kids,  it's your responsibility to be their role model.  If you don't explain that all Tiger can do is hit a golf ball real good, then they'll probably think he's more than that.
