You mean the quarter glass right?

roll it halfway down and start pulling

If your talking about the back glass then the best way I have found is with a strand of E-brake
cable with a vice grip on each end
Stick the strand through in one spot and clamp the vicegrips on each end and pull back and forth
all around the edges

You can do it that on the windshield too but you have to be carefull if you want to save it without
any cracks

The piano wire works well, but make sure you remove the trim clips because they are hard to see once they are burried in the window adhesive.  No sence sawing into one of them.  Also, be very very careful.  Make sure you cut all the way through, and don't just cut three sides and try to lift it out.  The rear glass is critical since it's very hard to find.  Front windshields are still repro'd and readily available.  It took me months to find a rear one, and had to settle on a used one.

there is a special cutter , with a L shaped blade to cut the seal around the glass , usually under $10 to buy one
