There is a slot on top of the rail that sets the bracket.

When I did my conversion I had the engine in the car. Just do a mock up with the block, bellhousing, Z-bar in and you will get your exact location.
Mine was almost dead center with the hole..

It fits in slots in the frame like a piece in a puzzle. You don't have to mock it up. You can't do it wrong. Got some pics somewhere. I'll look.
