Detroit Autorama some pics, and a certain display
« on: March 05, 2010 - 10:30:59 PM »
Here are some cool pics of the 2010 Detroit Autorama.
I was feeling kinda yucky that night, but still managed to have a great time.
Loads of cars, all bar none. It was beyond comprehension what level of detail some of these cars were at. Chip/Troy and several others have enhanced the game froma styling perspective, but the builders are really droppin jaws.

A close friend of mine BUILT this Batmobile c/o the Make a Wish Foundation. He's a good dude, and a talented MF.

Here's the 2010 MHRA (Michigan Hot Rod Association) car club display I spent 1 year working on. I built every one of these cars in DATA, during lunch, late at night, in my spare time so that I could render up a KILLER image, and sell the club on the proposal. The theme is the Motor City Dragway. We built a mini-"Dragstrip"  I rendered it, the  club bought into it, and they WON 1st place. I'll never do it again. Way too much personal time for no money.
Here's the sketch

Here's the real thing:

Here's a garage find for ya. That one would be cool to find ;)

I went down there and I have to say that "Motor City Dragway" display was Awesome  :wow: .  My son couldn't believe that the early dragster was driven like that.  He had a million questions on it.  How'd they see like,  what happen when the front wheel landed crooked like that, why is the front wheel base so much wider then the rear wheelbase and on and on.  Even the wife was impressed, with all the old flyers and posters.  Great Job!

See ya,

Snowdoggie
