Hey Gordon, what parts off of your car ar you going to install on your sons?  Is his level of restoration a lower type than yours?  I know you bought all new everything for yours, but your 1/4s were shot, the fenders needed mud on your old ones and all the pans and stuff are bad on yours to. Nothing in your interior is really any good, so he may have to buy just about everything just like you are.  And are you going to restore his after yours or at the same time?  Is his going to be a rotisery?

Well his will be some lower than mine.  He will get my hood, I have a set of hood hindges,  Front fenders and I have a front and rear valance for his and the deck lid.  He wants to redo my top and put it back on his.  He wants to fix and mix our floor pans to make it good enough for now for his.  He wants to go as cheep as he can.  He know he will have to buy some new things.   I have some other extra parts that he will get I guess.

I hate to say it but that sounds like an accident waiting to happen.  It's one thing to do things with "cost-effective" in mind, but to try and be cheap will cost more in the long run, especially if he is going to be "mixing and matching" floor pans.  The floor pans are an integral part of the torsional rigidity, and if there are a bunch of cuts and welds and patches, that is not a good thing.  The body panels can be doctored up enough to make them look presentable, but the floor pan is not something you want to be half-arsing it on.  Spend the money to buy a new floor pan is my advice.  It will also save a ton of time.
