Headers???

I was reading some paperwork that came with the headers and it says that there could be discoloration during breakin of engine if it is the first time using the headers.  The are ceramic coated.  Has anyone any experience here?  Thanks.

I use the ceramic coated tti headers on my small block and never had any discoloration,,even during the break in of the motor there was none

Were the headers brand new when you broke in the motor?

yes they were

I have seen it happen , I always try to get the timing up & the floats & mixtures set ASAP to limit the heat into the headers

I think hes saying getting everything in time quick dont just set the time and start the engine up and asume that just because it start up it must be right or close enough for just breaking it in cause you could be a little lean and here comes the blueish color on them pretty headers..i have allways bought mine painted installed them start the engine break it in even took it down the strip to get all the bugs out then take them off and ship them to jet hot..cant go wrong with them guys they do great work..cause it never fails you have to adjust the rockers or something might not seal up like it should..and on the headers it gets..

I used   Polished Ceramic Coated with a Thermal Barrier which may have helped,,but like cp said get the timing up & the floats & mixtures set ASAP
