What is this bracket for ???????
« on: March 18, 2010 - 01:50:58 PM »
Had these (2) in a box with some other parts that go to my car, but I don't recall where they came from. Entirely possible that they are mixed up from another 70 donor I had. The J nut is a small thread (like the ones that hold the grille in). No part numbers on them from what I can tell.

Help!
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

There should be two of them.  Those look like the brackets that go in the slots in front of the fenders to hold up the front facia containing the headlights and front grill.

Anyone by chance have a picture of where they would go?

Here's a couple of pics of the headlamp bucket brackets on my un-restored 71 Cuda.
Similar but I don't think they're the same. I don't have one of my 70's apart and I don't remember that bracket being on the last one that I built.
It does look like a grille bracket, possibly from a 72-74 Cuda?

Went out and looked at my wife's 73 and they're definitely not for that car. Both of my 70's are apart right now so that's no help.  :clueless:

how typical...  I have them left over as well...
my guess was  supports of the rear valance to fillerpanel...  definately not the fenderbrackets.

Now that I think about it, they look a lot like the Challenger rear valance upper brackets.

I'll take a look tonight and see what I can find. I just put the rear valence on my car last night and did not see a place to put them, but I will look again.

This is the only pic that I have of my chal convert before we assembled it. The brackets that I'm talking about are bolted to the rear crossmember above each spring shackle. Kind of hard to see in the pic. There's one on each side.
I think it's a "Challenger only" part.
