Anyone see this yesterday? The car in question is exactly like my Father-in-laws SRT.

Looks like the guy got a deal on the car and the dealership SHOULD make good and honor the deal.  If I was the owner of the dealership, there's be one less salesperson tomorrow morning!

This puppy is making the rounds everywhere.  Talk about your viral stories.  I don't see any way the dealership can back out of this without facing a complete boycott, and you talk about bad press.  They would be way ahead of the game if they eat the $10K they will lose on the car, and work out some kind of a pay-back deal with the person that listed it.

yea that would suck to be the dealer,,but they should have ended the auction before it ended on its own,,they screwed up an let it end,,they may have no recourse than to let the guy have it,,it will cost the dealer more to fight it

heres one that a guy got his car in another auction

I hate to lose 10 cents.  That's why I make dam sure to double and triple check my listings before I post them.  If Ebay lets them out of this deal, it will open up a whole can of worms.  Maybe they could offer a Classic RT with a lifetime warranty in it's place.  I would certainly be happy to take that for $30K, and the dealer would not be out as much.

They messed up pure and simple, give the man his ride. If he messed up and bid 55k do you think they would let him out of the deal?

Though it was too bad the dealer wasn't paying close enough attention, they ended up honoring the deal:
