rallye wheels??
« on: March 01, 2010 - 12:19:34 AM »
so i bought 2 15x8 rallye wheels from wheel vintiques for my 74 challenger the other week.i went to get my 14x6's powder coated and they claim to be unable to match the color.so a buddy owns a body shop and said he could paint the two 14's to match. i was at a car show today and saw another few cars with the rallye's and the color looked different than the 15x8's????????? does anyone know the name or paint code for these wheels???? any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks, kevin

you can powder coat the wheels for durability & put a light coat of the correct silver over the top of the powder coat , unfortunaly I do not have a paint code for you

Several venders sell the correct paint for the wheels, check with Totally Auto.

Its something like Argent Silver, but I think theres two shades so you'll have to check to see which is correct for wheels.  Mopar sells rattle cans of the stuff, hopefully their's would be as acurate as any.  You could always just paint all four over again to be sure they match.

If I could ask a new question here...  What is the deal with 15x6.5 and 15x7?

15 x 7 was used in the muscle car era up to 74 or so , after that they were used on Chargers & Magnums but slightly narrower at 15 x 6.5
