    I just used a piece of duct tape on it to hold it in place until it was bolted up.
    Its just a piece of 30# roofing paper.

    I would think it could absorb heat that is radiating from the (dark color) asphalt......

    Wondering though..........my durango's gas tank is black plastic, as is my wife's Hyundai's tank......   :clueless:

    They are two different ways of transferring energy. Radiated heat energy will heat up whatever it hits, light or dark. Radiated light energy is absorbed more by dark objects, heating them up.

    I would have thought those vehicles were fuel injected with high pressure electric pumps?

    they are and they wounldnt have the same problem,unless you didnt have a vent..i know i got a buddy of mine thats a (chevy) guy..i know i know.. :screwy:but he is a friend..lol..he has a tubbed 79 model truck and has his tank sprayed black in the back of the bed with bed liner and he dont have no problems..and im in the south where it gets warm..but again electric pump..rci even makes black fuel cells i have one on the floor in my shop...i just think them being metal and spraying the factory tank black it starts to boil when under high temps..im leaving mine raw...
