Cuda Bucket Seat - Question #2
« on: April 05, 2010 - 10:14:05 PM »
Hi All-
Bucket seat question #2.
I figured since the seats were out to install the release mechanisam (see Cuda Bucket seat question #1), I'd paint the tracks.
Something that should have been done ten years ago while the seats were recovered.  O'well.
To make life easier, thought it best to remove the tracks from the seats.
Well, while taking them off, somthing fell out of the track; please see attached.
I think it's a bearing.  Question is; where does it go?
I stopped with the disasembly process.  looked my books, but they arent that detailed.
Your assistance is greaty appreciated.

Reminds of the "if it's not one thing, it's another."

Please see attached picture.
It's for a 71 B'cuda.

Thanks,
Ron

That's the roller that helps you move back and forth between the top and bottom section. You'll have to look at the other side to see where it goes.  That's what makes them slide so smoothly.

There should be 2-per track, as I recall they are held in place by pressure & ride in a rectangular opening....Hopefully the rest are there for you to compare.... My '73 also has 4-ball bearings per track, 2 at each end held in place by white plastic that rides the sides. I was missing some bearings so I took one to a bicycle shop that was able to measure & provide replacements.
