Is my linkage correct?
« on: April 22, 2010 - 12:20:48 AM »
This is the setup on my 340/727 with a Carter AFB.  I think the intake bracket might be wrong because in order to get the upper link to line up with the carb I have to flip the link over and insert it from the driver's side.  If I do that, I can't attach the return spring as illustrated in the service manual.  Any idea what I have wrong?

you have a non factory carb so now you have to adapt the linkage to make it work so as long as you ghave a sprring to pull the linkage forward you are ok

Electrical tape. Lol, pretty classy, yes?

The return spring broke. I took the link off and decided to tape it up so it wouldn't rotate and get out of adjustment. That'll be coming off when I put it back on.

Thanks for the help.

Your kick down slide is on wrong. It needs to be to the outside of that nut

Thats the issue I'm having. In the picture the link is in the factory position and that puts the slide on top of the nut. The only way to get the slide outside the nut is to insert the link from the opposite side of the bracket.  I'll try that with the spring on the carb-side of the linkage.
