Exhaust hangers with aftermarket exhaust
« on: April 14, 2010 - 12:32:22 PM »
I have a 73 Cuda340 with headers and flowmaster exhaust. The hangers are kinda of hokey. I was wondering how everyone that is using aftermarket exhausts hangs their exhausts so they don't rattle and bang around. In particular, I want to be able to center the tips in the valance and make it so they will not hit over bumps. I bought new factory hangers that I plan on putting in in the near future.
Anyone have any ideas of a good way to accomplish hanging the exhaust and keeping it from rattling around? Photos would be a great help.
Thanks,
John

I ran a bracket off the factory tie down bracket that are attached to the frame rail.I dont know if your car came with them.

4 speed fish,
I don't think I have tie down brackets. Do you have a picture you could post?

thereis a bracket that bolts through the trunk floor to hold the rear of the pipes you need a tab which can be made from flat bar & welded onto the pipe to hook into the bracket
