a 3HP unit. Same thing I've got basically.
It's kinda weak IMO. Reed valve, low CFM at high PSI. Why I want to up grade.

i always put them outside the shop so they dont just run and run to catch up i had the same size and it drove me crazy..

Check out this Hobart Handler 140 at Toolking.com.  I love this welder.  I actually bought mine on toolkings ebay store.  It was $419 with free shipping.  It says remanufactured, but I didn't see a scratch on mine.  The hoses were new in packages and it comes with a warranty just like a new one.  5 years which is a lot.  Miller makes Hobart so you know it is good.

to add to the craigslist suggestion, if you have a local welding store, go in and talk to them, people are upgrading all the time and they might have something they took in on trade.

Thanks everyone. I ended up with a Lincoln Handy-Mig. It's a small unit that will do gas or flux-core up to 1/8 inch. I already have a stick welder for anything thicker than that. Really just wanted it for sheet metal repairs.

Still waiting on the compressor though. Leaning toward the Kobalt from Lowes, with 11.5 CFM at 90 psi. Probably use my old tank for extra air storage.
