Not a kill, just not intimidated
« on: May 01, 2016 - 08:41:50 PM »
As I was coming home from a car show the other day, I jumped on the highway and was quickly up to the speed limit and in the middle lane of a three lane highway.   I was by myself and then saw two cars from behind steadily advancing on me. Didn't really think anything of it and just continued driving. Suddenly I hear the one on the left goose it as he goes by me and I see that it's a red Maserati. Whoa,  a Maserati just challenged the Cudee...awesome. So, he's not flying or anything but he get's in the center lane in front of me. I usually play it very cool with anyone trying to egg me on cuz I'd like to keep my license and keep driving the Cudee. Stupid laws are so strict anymore about even showing any slight aggressive speed.  Anyway, I felt like showing him I wasn't intimidated by his Italian iron and kept up on his butt after he got in front of me. He accelerated a little faster as I stayed on him. Eventually, we were doing a little over a hundred as I approached my exit. At that point I flashed my lights at him in comraderie and shot off towards my exit on the right. Nothing big, but I'd like to think he was thinking "Wow, that old American muscle stuck right on me."

Here's what the rear of it looked like but in red

Nice!

I'm looking forward to a little highway hunting with the 3rd Gen Hemi and a 6-speed  :grinyes:

Most would think that I would be out of sustainable steam at ~100mph.  :grinno:

I got to drive a family friends 2010 Michigan state police car with around 110k miles on the 5.7. the car had a diablo tuner on it and from 40-80 i was pretty impressed. that car was pretty fun, and i strongly considered buying it...i don't see a reason why you'd lose steam at 100 with that 6 speed!

it's pretty tempting to pick up a charger for the daily driver once my impala croaks...although i'd imagine unless i got the all wheel drive version i'd hate the decision in the snow, especially on the trips back and forth to Michigan.
