Hey, I used to own one of those. Same color too. It wasn't a bad car, but it wasn't a performance car by any means.

;D That makes me laugh, not because it is silly but it's just amazing how many thinks are sold on ebay. The type of things people try to sell on there and actually get bids! Watching Jay Leno the other night, he showed some of the unusual things that sold on eGouge and the one that really took the cake is this Lay's potato chip that was shaped like a cowboy boot. It not only got bids but it went for over $1200.00!  :P

Wow, that thing definitely looks sad.  It's kinda like a Volare, but much worse cause a Challenger isn't supposed to look that bad! >:( ::) :'(

If you put the effort in to swap in a Conquest/Starion drivetrain it would be a little screamer.  Both haveing the 2.6Liter motors. Altrhough the Starion being fuel injected and turbocharged is much more stout than carbureted 2.6L it most likely has. Must upgrade drivetrain also !!
With a 250 HP turbo motor, 5 spd and 3.54 rear it would smoke several of the challengers on this board. Light Weight !
But yes it'd never look as cool or have the cache of a E-body.

Something I found in a 1979 Car Craft magazine - quote " Recognizing the potential of the arrow/colt and sapporo/challenger models as racing machines, Chrysler Corp has just released a comprehensive 26 page catalog of goodies designed to help turn one of the little cars into a semi- or -all out road racing or Pro Rally car. Available by mail for $2 , it lists engine pieces, trick transmissions, and special rearend housings complete with limited slip 4.22 or 4.62 gearing."

It wasn't the same but at least Chrysler was trying !   By the way the same issue had Don Prudohme flogging an Arrow GT around the Willow springs road race course, he had a lot of complimetary things to say about it.
