Wheel alignment with KUSTOM specs
« on: April 27, 2010 - 03:51:05 PM »
Hi all. Have you ever tried something else than factory specs?

Check out this and give your comments. Thanks!

From page 04;

The R/T was brought to our friends at Shore Wheels in Tuckerton, New Jersey, for a front-end alignment. The Shore Wheel guys dialed-in a touch of negative camber (-0.70) and positive caster (+2.5). This will help the Coronet drive and handle better than if we received a stock specification type of alignment.
Current Vehicles:
Plymouth PPR Cuda 1970 489 cid
Plymouth GTX 1970 RS23V0E

Sorry my bad english...I'm just an european...

Sure, If I could figure out how to add a good amount of camber and caster that would be great. I did a search and those specs are similar to what chryco recommended. Now I just need to figure out how to actually do that, the factory manual was useless.

on the upper control arm rotate the front adjustment bolt all the way out & the rear all the way in ,this will max the caster from there you may need to rotate the rear bolt slightly to adjust the camber ,set the toe in & you are good to go .
the adjustment bolts can be siezed in the bushings making removal very difficult & adjustment impossible , I alway coat the adjuster bolts with anti-sieze when I install them

Buy a set of these and you can have all the camber and caster you want.

$229 per arm?! Ouch! You can get Magnumforce double adjustable arms for less than that!

Without tubular UCA's you may have issues getting enough caster and camber at the same time. But you can get offset bushings to help get more caster and camber out of your stock components without having to shell out that much cash.

Currently I have my car set up with -.7* camber, +4.0 caster, and 1/16" of toe in. I do have adjustable tubular UCA's, but I think you could get those specs with just offset bushings. It definitely helps the car handle better, and is better for modern tires than the old specs. The positive caster makes the steering/control much better as well, although you probably don't want to run all the way up to +4 if you have manual steering.
