ebay cuda tribute.
« on: April 30, 2010 - 08:31:02 PM »
Any thoughts on this car? Like about it being a Canadian made body? Does that hurt it's value? Also, is the price ok? If the car is as described?

Thanks all.

I looked up that VIN he has listed in the ad and it decodes as made in Hamtrack. Weird. Any thoughts to why he says it's Canadian built?

Possibly built at Hamtramck for Canadian sale.

All E-Bodies were made at Hamtramck after the 1970 model year.

Probably a shill bid or just testing the market.  Seems kind of overkill to put a Dana on a 340, though.

Well, I went to see and drive the car over the weekend. It is a great car IMO. Fast, smooth, felt real solid and tight.

I decided not to get it due to price and because I'd have to pay interest on a loan if I did it. But yes, car is underplayed in the ad IMO. His price to me face to face was $38,000. His two little girls did not want him to sell it. He told me that he may decide to keep it. I guess he did just that.

I called him the next day to tell him I wasn't going to buy it. He said it was fine cause he decided to keep it. He plans on working the motor. As for the Dana? He bought the car as is and did only some touch up paint work.

He's a nice guy though I can attest.

So was it coded C for Canadian on the fender tag or what became of the Canadian reference?
